My first and only girlfriend, and she better be waiting for me. She loved me with all her heart, and spoiled the hell out of me.

My loving and intelligent grandson committed suicide at age 23, and the world lost a wonderful man. Being the person he was, he left a note apologizing for the hurt his death would cause.

John just turned sixty, which obviously makes me feel real old. Here a few fotos of the party and department folk.

This photos started as slides taken in 1968. I had the slides professionally scanned, but had to do some manipulation. I knew very little about photography, and my camera was a used Yashica range viewer, which I bought used upon arrival. But that camera went to lots of rain, lots of dust, and rough times due to my ignorance.

Cardiff Castle is in Cardiff, Wales. It is in the center of town and is very unique. You see the castle, enter the castle, and then discover the original castle in the center. The original castle is a "mote and bailey" castle; a castle of stone on top of a mound of dirt. Also, they have a small exhibit for birds of prey.

I wanted to see Dartmoor because I am a Sherlockian, but there was some disappointment because I am a photographer. It immediately became obvious that one has to know when to take the photos and where to do so. You simply cannot get the good photos from the road. I have seen tremendous fotos of Dartmoor, but these are not them.

Various fotos of Windermere at the lake. I had previously been on the boat tour of the lake.

This is a small town on the coast of Wales, and a Welsh poet, Dylan Thomas, once here for several years. The little house over looking the water was his studio for writing. Thomas had a hard life with problems with a disability and drinking.

Minstead is in the county of Somerset, England. The church, All Saints Church, has a cementary, and it is the burial site of A. Conan Doyle, the writer of Sherlock Holmes.
From their brochure, "The grave lies at the far edge of the churchyard under an ancient oak that has twice been stuck by lightning."

Mousehole is a village and fishing port on the coast of Cornwall. Over the years I have seen many photos of Mousehole, but I wanted to take some photos myself. We also ate lunch at a pub that over looks the port. Also, for an American, you first note the narrow and curving streets.

The castle was on a hill, and it is a tourist center. I went there to show my kid one of the oldest pubs in the UK. It has been in business for over 900 years, and it is built into the cliff which was the base of the castle.

Basically an island off the coast of Cornwall at Marazion. Started off as a monastery but eventually went to private ownership. It belongs to the National Trust but is leased to the St. Aubyn family.

A collection of the things that interest I Stratford. I love the narrow boats, birds, and the locks.

This is another seaside town on the Cornwall coast, but obviously bigger and more commercial. A few images of this and that.

York is well done for the "shambles." This a shopping area with the narrow street. Also in York is the National Train Museum, which I have visited before. Near the shambles is the York Cathedral, and I have been there a couple of times. I love the cathedral.

A wool town in England. The trains and boats were used to move the products. It is the home town of a friend.
